This works perfectly for plugging my Windows laptop into my HDTV. With my Mac, it pillar boxes the image but that’s due to Mac’s setting not this device which did exactly as it promised even at my highest resolution setting. My 32″ widescreen HDTV is now my external monitor. Love it.
Also, here’s a note that I found describes this product’s capabilities perfectly; “Some people had low resolution TV ( 720 P ), but have PC with high resolution VGA output ( 800×600 ). Their TV can only display 720 lines at most, and not display the resolution of 800 from his VGA output. This is due to the low resolution of the TV, not because of the VGA to HDMI converter. If they can change the VGA output to 640×480, or change the TV to 1080P, then the problem is solved. But people can not understand this technical limit of the TV, and blame the converter.”

Very simple instructions, pretty much plug everything in and turn everything on. Unfortunately that is the only instruction or information provided at all and when I followed these very simple instructions it did not work. The manual provides no information at all no troubleshooting no tech support info nothing, Can’t reccomend this thing, we’ll see how the company is about issueing a refund.

It does do what it say, but it doesnt work quite right. It only works on the lowest resolution possible from the video card, which kinda makes it useless on my plasma TV. If you consider buying this product, DONT!! There are much better devices out there, although you will pay more for it. ITS WORTH IT!!! Or just buy a new video card with an HDMI output. I hope this helps someone.

I fought with this for hours, trying to get it working. It did work at very low resolution, but even then it was erratic. Buy a new video card rather than wasting your time on this product.
