Purchased this product so my son could run an original Xbox and Xbox 360 (pre-HDMI) on a new 24 inch 1080p computer monitor. The connections all work fine. build quality is good, and the unit is not too big. The video quality leaves a bit to be desired. It’s not likely the converters fault, but I was hoping for a nice picture.

Not DVD Quality. I would NOT recommend it for Game systems or DVD players ect.
I am using this with the RCA component input to VGA out. I’m running a bullet camera to monitor something on the other end of the building. The small degrade in quality does not kill the picture.
Overall, this is a good buy!

I bought this for a home entertainment set up. I was sending a signal to my projector. Unfortunately the VideoSecu Converter did not work with my projector. It worked great with my 19″ widescreen monitor, but the projector wouldn’t pick up the signal from the converter. The customer service made up for my disappointment. They allowed me to return the item with no hassle.

I can now play ps2 on my computer screen and it was fairly cheap. Wish the video quality was better though.

cheaper than a new tv
Ok picture quality for my purposes.
Cons:
Picture quality is really not good.
Always on.
I bought this to use on an extra 14″ LCD monitor for the kitchen. We had previously used a 13″ CRT on a splitter from an adjacent room, so when it messed up we decided getting this adapter would be better than purchasing a second TV for a room we really didn’t need a tv in. We are using the adapter to convert a TiVo series 2 240 to the LCD and the text on the menus are pretty much unreadable. Picture quality is fuzzy and frankly awful, but viewed at 6 to 10 feet is passable. I wouldn’t use this on a large set or one that you need a quality picture on, but if you need a secondary screen and you don’t care about the picture quality go for it.
