@0602truedeathgod if it cannot display 16×9 it will look funny and not right.
July 27th, 2010 at 11:32 pm
@0602truedeathgod I know the wii has the option to play in 16×9 but the natural state is 4:3. I don’t know abut PS3
July 28th, 2010 at 12:13 am

July 28th, 2010 at 1:09 am
@0602truedeathgod it depends. what are you using it for? Wii can’t display that.
July 28th, 2010 at 1:57 am
does this add black borders if your trying to display 16:9 image on a monitor on a maximum resolution of 1280×1024 or will it stretch the display

July 28th, 2010 at 3:24 am
@Adv2k169 Yeah: either way the converter seems to get me input lag! =(
July 28th, 2010 at 4:17 am
@Matroix have you tired NOT recording your game.
July 28th, 2010 at 5:04 am
Hey, I’m converting PS3 component signal to VGA (because I have to record using component cables) and I can notisibly tell that there is input lag. After playing with a HDMI lead on the same monitor for a while when I jump online with the component to VGA converter I can tell that there is input lag which is impossible (how ever small it is) to play with online.
Any tips on how to reduce input lag, or am I stuck?

Does anyone know if this box would scale 720p image on 17 inch 1280×1024 monitor
July 28th, 2010 at 5:38 am
@Adv2k169 thanks for the answer!
July 28th, 2010 at 5:41 am
@ingegnerTerzo3 i have never experienced any lag with this device.
If your monitor has HDMI (some do) use that for ps3.
I played New Super Mario Brothers Wii from start to finish and collected all star coins using this adapter. In mario if you don’t time your jumps you could easily die, and I never experienced any lag. I tested it out with F-zero GX and never had problems and that game runs super fast. I’m not a techy so maybe a nano second lag, but I can’t notice it. I don’t sense any lag

Excuse me, I have to buy a converter like that to connect (PS3 to hauppauge hd pvr and…) HAUPPAUGE HD PVR to my MONITOR and I was wandering about one thing: are you sure there will be no delay in converting the signal? I’m really worried about the input lag from the PS3 to the monitor… do you have any ideas of which Component to VGA converter would result in max speed conversion? Thanks!
July 28th, 2010 at 6:10 am
@mforcedale I have no idea
July 28th, 2010 at 6:56 am
would you be able to use a capture card while using this device?
July 28th, 2010 at 7:40 am
Ah ok, no problem. I just wondered it if worked with all monitors, old or new. Thanks anyway.
July 28th, 2010 at 7:45 am
uhh i really don’t know on this one buddy my guess is yes, but your getting very technical for me.

Could I use this to connect a PS3 to a non-HDCP, non-DVI, non-’Sync on Green’ LCD monitor via component to VGA through this converter?
My monitor is a Viewsonic 2213w.
I know component can support the resolution, I’m just wondering if it would work. My monitor supports 16:9 resolutions up to 1080p, and has a native resolution of 1920 x 1080, but when I tried to connect my PS3 to it via VGA directly from component, it had a very green tint because of the ‘sync on green’ thing.
July 28th, 2010 at 9:04 am
it can do 576p as well. It can do as much as the machine can put up. Wii can’t do 720 p so it won’t upscale image just make it work
